Hello, my name is Marc Roy, a licensed psychologist with over 17 years of experience in the field. For the past 14 years, I have been actively working in a private practice, specializing in counselling adults, couples, men, and first responders, as well as individuals with a history of trauma.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology, which allows me to provide a comprehensive approach to treatment. My therapeutic approach is client-centred, where I help my clients find their inner strength and coping skills.
I utilize a combination of evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
I chose to become a psychologist because I have always been fascinated by the workings of the human mind. I find it fulfilling to help people overcome challenges and improve their mental health. What I love most about being a psychologist is seeing the progress and positive changes in my clients.
Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing (downhill and cross-country), biking, and hiking. I am also a soccer coach and an avid music enthusiast who enjoys collecting vinyl records, attending concerts, and discovering new music.

Hi there! My name is Shantelle Szuch and I’m a psychologist with a passion for helping others find their clarity. I have been practicing since 2006 when I became provisional and received my full license in 2011. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in School Psychology, I specialize in formal assessment (clinical predominantly), and trauma-specific intervention. I am certified in TFCBT and trained in CPT and BOS.
My work style is professional and blended, including both evidence-based and research-based interventions, along with intuition and progressive intervention. I align very much with narrative approaches in both assessment and therapy, and I am highly client-directed, believing firmly that the client is the expert in their own life.
I became a psychologist “by default” as it was the path of least resistance, but what brought me the awareness to the field is my older sister who is also a psychologist. What I love most about being a psychologist is helping people find their clarity, whatever that may be.
In my free time, I used to compete in 5 pin bowling for 30 years, but retired almost a decade ago. Nowadays, I mostly focus on powerlifting (having competed since 2007). I also have two daughters, a dog, and a cat. In 2016, I helped create and launch the Canadian Powerlifting Union ethics committee, which I have chaired since, but I am finally passing it on to my successors this year.

Lucienne Henry
My professional umbrella includes working with individuals, couples, families, children (as young as 4 years old) and adolescents, with concerns ranging from anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, chronic pain, life transitions, finding meaning, and many other topics. I work from a relational standpoint. I believe that when I am sitting with my clients, we are two people who are both experts in their own lives.
In my work with adolescent and adult individuals, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my practice which focuses on being present, opening up, and doing what matters. In my work with children and families with young children we work with a foundation of play therapy which includes using sandtray, art, games and many more interventions. In my work with families with older children/adolescents and couples, I use Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) which looks at issues that arise in a couple dynamic not at the fault of either person but as a pattern that has developed in your relationship, that we work to identify and learn to work with.
I also blend in approaches from other methods and theories, such as Play Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Nature or Eco Therapy, and Attachment Theory. I also try to embody in my work a Two-Eyed Seeing perspective, which honours traditional Indigenous knowledge and teachings with psychological practices. All services that I offer are available in English and are offered in both Lacombe and Red Deer, or online if requested.
I chose this career because it brings me great joy and purpose to be able to connect with many people and help them on their journey to a more meaningful life. I was born, and raised in Lacombe County, and have a passion for helping my community, including those who live in rural areas. If you are from a small community like me that also means you know that it’s a small world and a small bunch of communities we live in! I assure confidentiality with all my clients, as it is my responsibility as a psychologist! I live on an acreage in rural Lacombe County with my fiance, four dogs, two cats, thirty chickens, and horses. I also have multiple gardens, fruit trees, and bushes. I love reading fantasy books, spending time with my fur family gardening or planning my garden in the winter!

I have completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused CBT for children/adolescents (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). What is Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT is a type of therapy that helps children and teenagers who have gone through tough experiences like abuse or violence, and their parents or caregivers. It’s a treatment that has been proven to work and is based on scientific evidence.
TF-CBT uses different techniques to help kids and teens deal with their emotions and thoughts related to the traumas they have experienced. It also involves working with their families or even in groups if that’s helpful.
This therapy combines different approaches to best support children and teens affected by trauma. It considers that trauma can affect how we think, behave, and feel. TF-CBT focuses on creating a safe and understanding environment where kids and teens can talk about their experiences.

In my work with individuals, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my practice which focuses on being present, opening up, and doing what matters. In my work with couples, I use Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) which looks at issues that arise in a couple dynamic not at the fault of either person but as a pattern that has developed in your relationship, that we work to identify and learn to work with.
